Stars & strong new blood for Atomic Nordic
Next step for Atomic Nordic! The successful cooperation with the Nordic stars Tord Asle Gjerdalen and the Aukland brothers Anders and Joergen remain at last until the Olympic Games 2014. From now on, the Norwegian junior national team is racing with the new Atomic Worldcup FL SDS.
Last season, Anders Aukland won the Ski Classics series consisting of seven races (among them: König Ludwig Lauf, Vasaloppet, Birkebeinerrennet), his brother Joergen was overall fourth and won the Marcialonga (70 km). “We continue the successful cooperation with these athletes“, ATOMIC Racing Director Roman Toferer explained. “We extent our engagement. Beside the team XTRA Personell with Simen Oestensen and the Aukland brothers we have new racers at the teams Skinfit and NPRO to join the ATOMIC family.“ Besides Boerre Naess (NPRO) and Lathi winner Martin Koukal (Skinfit), Havard Hansson, Sein Tore Sinnes (both NPRO) and Lukas Weitgasser (Skinfit) are going to use ATOMIC from now on. “The mass races are booming, there are thousands of participants at the classics. In no other fields the client is that close to racing and the sport than here. It makes sense for us to be part of the FIS Marathon Cup and the Ski Classics series.“
In pro cross-country skiing, ATOMIC has extended too: The Norwegian star Tord Asle Gjerdalen, who prolonged his contract until 2014, was joined by the Norwegian Junior National Team. Besides young star Sondre Fossli, Göran Tefre and Simen Krüger are going to race on ATOMIC as well. Toferer, “The Norwegian guys have enormous potential. It’s great that we are able to support them in making the best out of it.“
