WEGER STARTS INTO THE NEW YEAR AS NUMBER 4

In the hunt! This swiss keeps on shooting sharply. Atomic youngster Benjamin Weger (22) continues his successful path at the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen, part 2. In the 12,5-km pursuit he outran 22 (!) competitors on the Atomic Featherlight Softtrack and finished on 5th place. Weger continues the Biathlon World Cup next year as overall 4th.

“Benjamin raced a powerful race, the Featherlight Softtrack supported him ideally under the fresh snow conditions“, ATOMIC serviceman Bartholomäus Gruber cheered about the solid performance of the young Swiss. After the disappointing 27th place in the sprint (Weger, “It was snowing when the first 50 athletes started, who had no chance.“), the 1,81 m tall and 72 kg light model athlete achieved the 7th best time, but made a mistake in the shooting, which led to the 5th place in the end.

In the three World Cup events so far Benjamin Weger gained a total of 226 points, and starts into the new biathlon year as number 4 of the world. The grinning Swiss, “This is a wonderful Christmas gift.” A successful ATOMIC story – to be continued at the biathlon World Cup in Oberhof from 4 to 8 January 2012.
