The pressure was on but they all were fast. The dedication and training for the Downhill at World championships in Beaver Creek have paid off: Travis Ganong proved that he is the next american star of ski racing. Both Michaela Kirchgasser and Marcel Hirscher showed once again just how fast the redsters can run: Marcel won the Alpine combined race, bronze medal for Michaela after the best downhill-performance of her life.
It’s been a long time since Mikaela Shiffrin spent so much time at her home in Beaver Creek. Immediately after the Slalom in Flachau she jumped on a flight back home to prepare for an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: the World Championships on her home slopes. “It’s the dream that i never dared to dream“, she says. Now it’s about to come true, so we visited Mikaela at her home to find out how she’s feeling.
100,000 spectators overall. A new one-night record of 48,500 fans for the ski Big Air event. All three marquee events – Slopestyle, Big Air and the Superpipe – televised on ESPN. And medals for team Atomic! What a week...
DOUBLE VICTORY ON GANSLERNHANG: Mattias Hargin and Marcel Hirscher turned the Kitz classic on Ganslernhang into an open-air performance of the Redster show. It seems the harder the race, the better they perform. Next stop: The Night Race in Schladming. Same again please guys!

At Atomic we’ve been big fans of the Winter X Games from the start. And the 2015 Games this week in Aspen is no exception.

FANNY HORN’S BIG DAY. Ten shots – Ten times scored. Thanks to a first-class performance in skiing and shooting at the 7.5km sprint in Ruhpolding Atomic biathlete Fanny Welle-Strand horn celebrated her first victory in the world cup. With his 15th Slalom world cup victory, Marcel Hirscher not only crowned himself the star of Zagreb for the third time in a row, but he also became the most successful slalom racer in Austrian skiing history. He put it down to his Redster skis – and the team’s ability to continually fine-tune the formidable Icon Series. Mikaela Shiffrin was also in winning form and back to racing in her own league after claiming victory ahead of teammate Kathrin Zettel.
The last race weekend of 2014 was a successful one! in Santa Caterina, Travis Ganong recorded his first downhill victory. At Kühtai, Mikaela Shiffrin returned with her 10th career slalom win – more than any american skier in the discipline.
