WEGER STARTS INTO THE NEW YEAR AS NUMBER 4

In the hunt! This swiss keeps on shooting sharply. Atomic youngster Benjamin Weger (22) continues his successful path at the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen, part 2. In the 12,5-km pursuit he outran 22 (!) competitors on the Atomic Featherlight Softtrack and finished on 5th place. Weger continues the Biathlon World Cup next year as overall 4th.

ATOMIC YOUNG GUNS IN GRÖDEN TOP

Young blood. The new generation of the Atomic D2 race let the young wild racers take off on the Saslong in Gröden. Max Franz (22) and Andreas Romar(22) achieved their best world cup results in their career ranking fifth and seventh. Jachim Puchner (24) and comeback racer Mario Scheiber (28) completed the solid atomic performance ranking eighth and ninth. Downhill has been cancelled due to strong wind.

Elias Ambühl - The big air king

Elias Ambühl was the dominating skier of this autumn’s city contest season. He won all three events that are listed as Gold Level competitions in the AFP calendar – the freestyle.ch in Zurich, the Budapest Fridge, and the King of Style in Stockholm – and currently seems unbeatable in big air. We spoke with the Swiss style machine about the up-coming winter season and his secret to success just before the first major slopestyle competition of the season at the Dew Tour in Breckenridge.

HIRSCHER SNAPPED AT NEXT CHANCE

1, 2, 3. After the victory and 2nd place in the Giant Slalom double Atomic star Marcel Hirscher finished the US tour with 3rd place in the Slalom. The athlete from Salzburg took off from the bird of prey slope with the Atomic D2 race and – like a bird of prey – preyed a total of 240 world cup points. The material evolution in the Atomic setup supported Hirscher in reaching his 16th world cup podium place.

HIRSCHER STILL ON TOP

Top shape. He was skiing as if he had never been gone. 2nd place after the victory on Sunday at the giant slalom double in Beaver Creek for Atomic star Marcel Hirscher! And it was only the third race after his comeback. The new generation of the Atomic D2 race made the athlete from Salzburg fly on the Birds of Prey slope. LANDERTINGER BACK AMONG WORLD’S ELITE

Back on Track! Dominik Landertinger, new member of the Atomic family, bounced back into the world’s elite by ranking 4th at the biathlon season kick-off in Östersund. How the former world champion was athletically revived by the Atomic package of skis, boots and binding after a “pest season“.

RED BULL HÜTTENRALLYE MOVED TO 2012

As winter is yet to descend on the Austrian alps, those taking part in the Red Bull Huettenrallye can keep their skis stored in their ski huts for a little while longer. In order to guarantee an exciting and safe race through a challenging run on a perfect slope, the freeski 6 cross event at St. Anton am Arlberg has been delayed to January 2012. US ski star Daron Rahlves will of course still be there at the start of the year and pit himself against local challengers.

MARCEL HIRSCHER - LIKE A BIRD OF PREY

VICTORY NUMBER 30 FOR MARLIES SCHILD

30th time is a charm. Atomic slalom queen got back to where she ended last season. She showed brilliance in her slalom performance – World Cup victory number 30, the 28th in slalom. She won by 1,19 seconds. The performance of the Atomic D2 race unit in Aspen in figures: 4 ladies places among the top 9, among them Mikaela Shiffrin, a 16-year-old us World Cup debutant.
