SEASON KICK-OFF IN LIVIGNO. The race mode for the kick-off of the ski classics was new. But at the end, it was once again good quality that dominated: Team coop around the Swedish long distance athlete Oskar Svärd won the 15 km Prologue Classic in Livigno / Italy. The new Atomic Redster Classic setup contributed to the success.
The kick-off of the Ski Classics series as a mixed event – the performance check of the international long-distance pro teams could not have been any better! In the 15 km prologue classic in Livigno / Italy, the second fastest time of a male athlete was added to the fastest time of a female athlete. And at the end, the clear winner was Team Coop of the Swedish Long Distance specialist Oskar Svärd.
The Atomic athlete himself has won three times the Vasaloppet and the Marcialonga race. He is now head of Team Coop, the most professional Long Distance cross-country team in the world, which he co-founded in 2010. He is very happy about winning the first race: “It was only the first race and it is this kind of competition that is very favorable to us – because in our team we pay attention to balance; female and male athletes get exactly the same support.”
THE KICK-OFF VICTORY IS A SUCCESS FOR THE REDSTER CLASSIC SETUP
The kick-off victory of Team Coop at the Ski Classics Series is also a result of Atomic’s engagement. Especially for the Swedish cross-country skiing star Bill Impola, who only changed to Atomic in summer, the race setup of the Nordic Unit has already paid off in the first race: The combination of Atomic Redster WC Classic skis and boots with the high-end binding SNS PROPULSE makes Impola the leader of the individual ranking “Best Newcomer”.
In addition to team leader Oskar Svärd and Bill Impola, the best Long Distance team in the world has another Atomic athlete, the Swedish athlete Annika Löfström.
