The 7500 spots for the 2013 race were allocated within 118 minutes. Ski classics overall winner Anders Aukland, “it is great that long distance is booming!“

Forum Nordicum 2012 in Val di Fiemme – one of the most important media events for Nordic – this year with all important representatives of all areas of cross-country skiing and topics such as the FIS World Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme, FIS World Cup, FIS Marathon Cup, Biathlon World Championships 2013 in Nove Mesto and the Olympic Games in Sochi 2014. Atomic Long Distance stars Anders and Jørgen Aukland were part of the event.

The Auklands and their dominance on Atomic
Atomic Nordic Winter 2012: Double victory at the Marcialonga in Italy. Victory and a new record at the Birkebeiner race in Norway. Anders Aukland as overall winner of the Ski Classics series and winner of the Long Distance team ranking. The Aukland Brothers dominated the Marathon Cup “Ski Classics“ using Atomic Race equipment: the WC Classic SDS race ski, the Worldcup Classic Boot and the SNS Propulse RC binding.

At the presentation of his equipment, Jørgen Aukland emphasized the importance of matching training skis, “The Atomic Skintec is the most effective training ski I’ve ever had. I save a lot of time because I don’t have to prepare the ski. The best thing about it: it is extremely fast!“ The Skintec is a high performance wax-less ski that can be adapted to any snow situation with a flick of the wrist thanks to interchangeable Skintec modules in the kick zone.

Two brothers and their unique Long Distance career
Anders Aukland began his success story in the Norwegian cross-country team. During that time, we won two gold medals at the Olympic Winter Games (2002) and the XC World Championships (2003). In 2004, he was the first Norwegian after 33 years to win the Vasa race. From that point on, he concentrated on Long Distance races.

Jørgen Aukland’s great success began with the overall victory of the FIS Marathon Cup in 2003 and the Marcialonga 2004. He managed to achieve eight podium places in 10 years at the Classics in Italy. A similar success story is connected to the Vasa race, where he achieved 6 podium places and a victory in 2008.

The strength of the Atomic Race production
The Atomics Classics race equipment of 2012 was the key to success for the Aukland brothers. The Worldcup Classic FL SDS, an incredibly fast and easy race ski, uses the SDS construction, a revolutionary construction that makes the ski extremely dynamic. Worldup Classic and SNS Propulse RC are the perfect combination of boot and binding for the long distance races. The boot is light as a feather with excellent classic Flex and matches the Atomic SNS race binding perfectly.
