GLORY GUAY IN GARMISCH, ATOMIC KITTEN IN ST. MORITZ
The world champion is back on the podium. ATOMIC star Eric Guay ranked 2nd on the shortened Kandahar 2 in Garmisch. Despite a cold but because he loves Garmisch, where he became world champion and won twice. At the ladies' downhill in St. Moritz, 22-year-old ATOMIC kitten Tina Weirather finished on 3rd place.
“Why am I always so fast in Garmisch? – I don’t know the answer to that“, the likable Canadian Guay said smiling and with a snuffy voice to the cameras and into the microphones in the finish of Garmisch. Despite his cold, which he had taken with him from Kitzbühel just like place 11, and a major mistake he finished on the podium for the first time this season. “Erich had adjusted my ATOMIC Doubledeck perfectly well to these difficult snow conditions“, Guay thanked his ATOMIC ski-tech Erich Schnepfleitner.
Second podium place for comeback star Tina Weirather
ATOMIC kitten Tina Weirather (22) continues her streak of good luck in downhill in her comeback season after her forth (!) cruciate ligament rupture. After places 2 and 10 in Lake Louise and top-10 places in Bad Kleinkirchheim (9th) and Corina (5th), the young Liechtensteiner raced to the podium again in St. Moritz – 3rd place. The day before, ATOMIC lady Kathrin Zettel confirmed her good shape by ranking 4th in super-combined. This was her 6th top-5 place in this season.
