HIRSCHER SNAPPED AT NEXT CHANCE
1, 2, 3. After the victory and 2nd place in the Giant Slalom double Atomic star Marcel Hirscher finished the US tour with 3rd place in the Slalom. The athlete from Salzburg took off from the bird of prey slope with the Atomic D2 race and – like a bird of prey – preyed a total of 240 world cup points. The material evolution in the Atomic setup supported Hirscher in reaching his 16th world cup podium place.
Best time after the first run and Marcel Hirscher was shining like the sun in Beaver Creek, “It doesn’t matter how the race will end, I have seen that things work out. I am in. The intensive testing has paid off. My material setup is top thanks to my ATOMIC crew.“ After the second race with mistakes and the final 3rd place, Hirscher was still happy, “For sure I prefer to win, but overall the results were great. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd – that fits in perfectly. Beaver Creek was worth the trip.“ In fact Marcel Hirscher returns to Europe as the leader of the Nor-Am series and as 3rd of the overall World Cup (with a total of 280 points).
ATOMIC HEADS TO THE CLASSICS WITH MATERIAL EVOLUTION
The ATOMIC entourage now moves from North America to Europe. Since the snowfalls and the okay from Gröden the ATOMIC test team has been working non-stop: adaption to the European conditions and further testing of the material evolution especially in the speed disciplines. ATOMIC Racing Director Rudi Huber was happy about the positive feedback from the test units. He is confident about the races, “We take the feedback from our athletes into consideration and keep testing to bring our material to the next level. I’m looking forward to the classics in Gröden, Alta Badia and especially the home double in Flachau.“
