In collaboration with ATOMIC, freeski pro Chris Benchetler created the ski of his dreams, the Bent Chetler, and ever since then he's never been without it. Since 2009 Chris and ATOMIC have gotten together every year to make the Bent Chetler even better. And the latest model represents the best Bent Chetler ever created.
Featuring a huge 123 mm waist width and Pop Rocker 20, the Bent Chetler delivers optimum lift and a true surf feeling in the backcountry. The half-cap construction at the tip and tail and traditional sandwich construction below the binding make this ski a breeze to manoeuvre while also ensuring extreme stability. Thanks to the Pop Rocker, the rider is just as comfortable going backwards as forwards. And because skiers often have to traverse crud to get to the powder, the Bent Chetler is designed to give optimum grip thanks to its camber and Triple Step Down Sidewall.
The pro model is the result of another Chris Benchetler collaboration, the freeskier overseeing not only the shape and performance: once again he has painted all the graphics by hand. "All of my ski designs are inspired by my hobbies, my adventures and my life. The surfer is a recurring motif, because I feel a close connection with the sea and I also like to try out different surf tricks in powder. Japanese symbols reflect my love for Asian culture. And the mammoth represents Mammoth Mountain in California, my home. The designs for this year's model are heavily inspired by the Beatles."
