HIGH IN HOCHFILZEN: ATOMICS REMAIN ON TRACK
Keeping it high – after the podium results in Östersund, the Atomic biathletes also showed constantly strong performances in Hochfilzen. Especially in the cross-country ski run, the Austrians Fritz Pinter, Christoph Sumann, Dominik Landertinger and Julian Eberhard – all of them on the Atomic Worldcup Skate FL Hard Track – belonged to the fastest athletes. It only takes a bit more luck in shooting.
The ATOMIC Worldcup FL Hard Track keeps its promises: second best time in the 10-km sprint for Julian Eberhard, the sprint dominator of the IBU Cup (4 mistakes in shooting, only 42nd place in the end), third best time for Fritz Pinter, who finished fourth after one mistake in shooting. In pursuit, Dominik Landertinger raced to 8th place from 24th place (sprint). And finally, the Austrian relay with Atomic athletes Christoph Sumann, Dominik Landertinger and Fritz Pinter achieved fourth place. 36-year-old Sumann, who was followed by his Swiss ATOMIC colleague Benjamin Weger, who got back to the world’s elite by showing such a top performance, achieved the best time in the run.
“The Featherlight gives me the security that I can be on the top with the fastest material. If shooting goes well, I can make it to the podium”, Fritz Pinter promised. The biathletes have their next chance this week (12 to 16 December) at World Cup stop number 3 in Pokljuka, Slovenia.
DOUBLE VICTORY FOR ATOMIC IN THE FIRST LONG DISTANCE RACE
Before it gets serious at the first Ski Classics Event, the 50 km Jizerská Padesátka in the Czech Republic, Atomic celebrated the first double victory in Long Distance. In Beitostølen (22 km), Simen Östensen won ahead of overall Ski Classics winner Anders Aukland on ATOMIC WC Classics SDS race skis, the Worldcup Classic Boot and SNS Propulse RC binding.
