Reunion. The team-comebacks Carlo Janka, Benni Raich, Marcel Hirscher, Mario Schreiber and John Kucera were showing top form at the ATOMIC Racing Media Day 2011. The clear commitment of the ATOMIC-team 2011/2012: „All our stars are fit again – we have big goals for the world cup winter.“

The ATOMIC stars have been entering the „Hall of Fame“ of the world’s most successful skiing brand like basketball players in NBA style – a reunion with the skiing-community in ATOMIC’s homebase in Altenmarkt. Media interest – huge, since the five top stars Carlo Janka, Benni Raich, Marcel Hirscher, Mario Scheiber und John Kucera had to miss out on the Skiing World Cup in Schladming. They all have returned and are highly optimistic for the new season.

„My first full-fledged preparation in 3 years“, says a satisfied skiing-superstar Carlo Janka. Despite the heart problems he had before undergoing surgery in winter, he won his hero-triple (World Champion, Olympic Champion, World Cup winner). Benni Raich is back in training after his knee injury which incurred at the Skiing World Championships. By overcoming his injury, Marcel Hirscher’s returns stronger than ever. Mario Schreiber is „more motivated than ever to win his first World Championship after becoming a father“. The Canadian John Kucera, plagued by a series of injuries since his World Championship Gold 2007, is fully back on track again. Thus, all fit for the next step.

The ATOMIC-Team 2011/2012 have every reason to optimistically look into the new season. Marcel Hirscher: „Thanks to intensive tests we managed to reach a further development with the ski-shoe-binding setup, also with the doubledeck-performance.“
ATOMIC Racing director Rudi Huber: „Last season we have been able to maintain the high perfomance level and remained number one of Men’s World Championship points system, despite the injured topstars. What is more, the women’s slalom perfomances have been the measure of all things. That speaks for the substance and quality of this team“. This is routed in the balance of the generations. Carlo Janka: „Of course, on track we are competitiors. But we all know, that we can learn from each other, a team spirit which – together with the innovative force of ATOMIC – is a crucial part of our success.“
On Friday, the „Hall of Fame“ of ATOMIC-homebase, with its big names of skiing history (special guest Annemarie Moser-Pröll attented), demonstrated skiing of today and the future. 18 World Cup athletes: Elena Curtoni, Eva-Maria Brem, Tina Weirather, Kathrin Zettel, Marlies und Bernadette Schild, Lisa Magdalena Agerer, Joachim Puchner, Björn Sieber, Philipp Schörghofer, Carlo Janka, Marcel Hirscher, John Kucera, Benjamin Raich, Mario Scheiber, Matts Olsson, Max Franz, Manuel Kramer as well as Austria’s biathlon aces of the Nordic Unit: Former World Champion Dominik Landertinger who joined the ATOMIC-Family, Christoph Sumann and Julian Eberhard.
